Under the direction of Lalou Bize-Leroy, Domaine Leroy consists of 21 hectares biodynamically farmed vineyards across some of the most prized communes of Burgundy. Richebourg is one of six Grand Cru sites in the revered village of Vosne-Romanée and is often notable for producing wines of opulence, power and body. One of the longest-lived of all Leroy’s wines, this will require further cellaring before approaching and should last well into the latter part of this century.

Usually, much more of a brute, in 2015 the Leroy Richebourg is a wine of total and exquisite finesse. The flavors are bright, precise and beautifully lifted by the wine’s tannic spine. The 2015 is an especially sensual, rapturous Richebourg that will leave readers weak at the knees. Above all else, the 2015 is incredibly polished and harmonious for such a young Richebourg. Burgundian Royalty

The Leroy name is a key pillar of the Burgundian wine scene and a leading light in the Côte d'Or, with three main strands: Domaine Leroy, Maison Leroy and Domaine d'Auvenay (a small, biodynamically farmed Domaine founded by Lalou in 1988).

In 1988, recognising the trend towards domaine bottling in Burgundy, Lalou Bize-Leroy purchased what would become Domaine Leroy: an estate situated in Vosne-Romanée (previously known by the name Domaine Noëllat). Domaine Leroy labelled wines are thus are produced from parcels of grapes grown on the 22ha of domaine-owned Côte d'Or vineyards, which span nine different Grand Crus. These wines are produced biodynamically and at extremely low yields, resulting in superbly concentrated expressions of the Burgundian terroir.
