Ribolla Gravner 2001 is a mature orange wine from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Italy. This wine is produced from the indigenous Ribolla Gialla grape, fermented with its skins in large terracotta amphorae buried underground. The 2001 vintage in the region produced a wine with immense aromatic concentration and a robust tannic structure. It displays deep notes of dried apricots, honey, beeswax and toasted nuts, with a long and savoury finish. Josko Gravner is a pioneer of this ancient winemaking style, and this bottling represents a milestone in the global revival of skin-contact white wines.
