Realm Cellars The Absurd 2012 is a full-bodied Bordeaux-style red wine from the Napa Valley of California. Bringing together the combined efforts and expertise of owner Scott Becker, winemaker Benoit Touquette and winemaking consultant Michel Rolland, The Absurd represents the pinnacle of Realms Cellars` output. A barrel selection of wines aged in 100% new oak, the 2012 is an assemblage of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc, with small amounts of Merlot and Petit Verdot making up the remainder. "This is another three-digit tour de force in winemaking. A blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and dollops of Merlot and Petit Verdot, all from the Dr. Crane and To Kalon vineyards, it boasts a soaring, majestic set of aromatics consisting of blueberries, baking spices, wet gravel, blackberries and acacia flowers. Full-bodied, opulent and voluptuously textured with sweet tannin and a mindboggling, long finish, this is magnificent stuff! Kudos to the entire Realm Cellars family. This is their finest achievement to date." 100 points, Wine Advocate, 2014
