This Bordeaux blend is primarily composed of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, typical of Margaux wines. Rauzan Segla has a long history, dating back to the 17th century, and was classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux classification. The meticulous winemaking process includes controlled fermentation and aging in oak barrels, allowing it to develop its complexity over time. The 2012 vintage reflects a warm year in Bordeaux, contributing to its ripeness and depth.

A Margaux Super Second
Setting the bar for quality winemaking in Margaux, the vineyards of Château Rauzan-Ségla are planted to 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot and 1% each of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot and are used to produce both the prestigious first wine and the second wine, known as Ségla.
These are wonderfully elegant, vibrant reds that see 60-70% new oak. Considered by many to be one of the greatest properties in Margaux, Rauzan-Ségla is now firmly established as one of Bordeaux`s ‘Super Seconds’.
