Château Rauzan-Ségla is a Second Growth wine producer in Margaux, owned by the luxury fashion house Chanel. Since 2014, the estate has been managed by the renowned winemaker Nicolas Audebert, who also looks after Château Canon. The 1995 Rauzan-Ségla is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc. It’s a medium-bodied wine, with a savoury-laced fruit character and firm tannins.

Vinous
Saturated ruby-red, even darker than the '96. Currant, raspberry, tobacco and cedary oak on the nose. Full and sweet in the middle palate, with strong, lively flavors. Here the toothcoating tannins seem slightly less well integrated today but they are ripe and even. Really creamy in the mouth, but with the structure to age.Stephen Tanzer1st May 1998

A Margaux Super Second
Setting the bar for quality winemaking in Margaux, the vineyards of Château Rauzan-Ségla are planted to 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot and 1% each of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot and are used to produce both the prestigious first wine and the second wine, known as Ségla.
These are wonderfully elegant, vibrant reds that see 60-70% new oak. Considered by many to be one of the greatest properties in Margaux, Rauzan-Ségla is now firmly established as one of Bordeaux`s ‘Super Seconds’.
