Here is a fully mature Château Rauzan-Ségla from a rare-to-find vintage. Soft and spicy with the tertiary hallmarks of an aged Bordeaux. A superb Margaux estate with a history that dates back as far as 1661.

Vinous
Deep red. Slightly funky, herbaceous nose dominated by aromas of leather and earth. Supple on entry, then rather diffuse in the middle. Dried out quickly in the glass, showing prune and fruit cake notes and signs of incipient oxidation.

A Margaux Super Second
Setting the bar for quality winemaking in Margaux, the vineyards of Château Rauzan-Ségla are planted to 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot and 1% each of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot and are used to produce both the prestigious first wine and the second wine, known as Ségla.
These are wonderfully elegant, vibrant reds that see 60-70% new oak. Considered by many to be one of the greatest properties in Margaux, Rauzan-Ségla is now firmly established as one of Bordeaux`s ‘Super Seconds’.
