Quilceda Creek`s 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, crafted from grapes sourced in Columbia Valley, reflects the notable characteristics of that harvest. The year experienced a warm summer, leading to small berry sizes, while early autumn conditions allowed for gradual ripening. This blend comprises 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Merlot, presenting a blend of blackberry, blueberry and plum with traces of dark chocolate and floral notes. The wine exhibits a structured profile, offering a long finish with notable complexity.

Vinous
(includes 3% merlot) Bright, saturated medium ruby. Sexy aromas of cassis, black raspberry, minerals, mocha and smoky oak. Juicy, layered and intense, with superb depth of fruit and an impression of breadth rare for Washington cabernet. This superripe wine shows considerably more finesse of tannins than the estate's red blend. This began with a slightly roasted quality but with time in the recorked bottle it appeared to gain in energy and sheer density. This was a vintage that yielded very small berries, noted Alex Golitzin.Stephen Tanzer1st November 2008
