Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet Les Pucelles 2013 is a Premier Cru white Burgundy from the prized Puligny climat of Les Pucelles in the Côte de Beaune. Now led by Brice de la Morandière, Domaine Leflaive is one of the most influential estates in Puligny-Montrachet. The estate focuses almost entirely on white wines made from Chardonnay, including four Grand Cru and four Premier Cru expressions. Les Pucelles is one of the most-prized 1ers Crus of Puligny-Montrachet, producing scintillating Chardonnays with a winning combination of concentration, elegance and mineral freshness. "A strikingly elegant nose presents a broad range of yellow and white orchard fruits with ample honeysuckle, spice, lilac and citrus nuances. The mouth feel of the medium-bodied flavours is notably finer and wonderfully seductive before concluding in a palate coating, saline and linear finish that possesses superb depth and length. Like the Combettes this is clearly built-to-age and while it will certainly be capable of rewarding longer-term cellaring it should be approachable after only 6 to 8 years." Burghound, 2015

Pale yellow. Aromas of oily yellow peach, pear, white flowers and flinty minerality. Sweet, intense and fine-grained, with harmonious acidity and a firm spine of minerality giving energy and finesse to the middle palate. Best today on the rising, resounding finish.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2015

Domaine Leflaive

The pinnacle of Puligny-Montrachet

Founded in the 18th century, Domaine Leflaive has built a storied reputation for its commitment to biodynamic farming and exceptional craftsmanship. The estate owns 22 hectares of vineyards, including 10 hectares of Premiers Crus in Puligny-Montrachet (Les Combettes, Les Pucelles, Le Clavoillon, Les Folatières), as well as no fewer than 5 hectares of Grands Crus (Chevalier-Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet, Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, and a tiny holding in Le Montrachet).

Joseph Leflaive, whose vision and dedication in the early 20th century were pivotal, transformed the domaine into a symbol of excellence. In the 1990s, Anne-Claude Leflaive introduced biodynamic practices, adhering to rigorous standards that respect the natural rhythms of the earth, promoting soil health and vine vitality without synthetic chemicals. This holistic approach results in Chardonnay wines celebrated for their purity, depth, and complexity. Each bottle reflects the rich heritage and innovative spirit that have made Domaine Leflaive a revered name among wine enthusiasts.
