A fabulous Premier Cru from Domaine Leflaive and a beautiful combination of 3 parcels of vines grown in the appellation of `Les Pucelles`. In the words of renowned wine critic, Antonio Galloni, "Citrus, white flowers and green pears linger on the highly nuanced, refined finish...Leflaive`s Pucelles is easily one of the highlights of the vintage."

The 2010 Puligny-Montrachet Pucelles is a totally complete wine. It brings together the expressive bouquet and minerality of Combettes with some of the expressive fruit of the Folatieres. Vivid and multi-dimensional in the glass, the Pucelles wraps around the palate with serious intensity. Citrus, white flowers and green pears linger on the highly nuanced, refined finish. Today, though, the 2010 is incredibly tight. Its pedigree is impossible to miss. Leflaive’s Pucelles is easily one of the highlights of the vintage. Anticipated maturity. 2015+. - Antonio Galloni

It has been several years since I last tasted the 2010 Puligny-Montrachet Les Pucelles 1er Cru. Now, at 13 years of age, it has an attractive nose, maybe not quite as "crystalline" as before, though it shows lovely white mushroom, lime and crushed stone scents. The palate is lively and poised. A killer tang of sour lemon verges on jarring towards the finish, yet somehow, it delivers fabulous tenderness and length. Domaine Leflaive

The pinnacle of Puligny-Montrachet

Founded in the 18th century, Domaine Leflaive has built a storied reputation for its commitment to biodynamic farming and exceptional craftsmanship. The estate owns 22 hectares of vineyards, including 10 hectares of Premiers Crus in Puligny-Montrachet (Les Combettes, Les Pucelles, Le Clavoillon, Les Folatières), as well as no fewer than 5 hectares of Grands Crus (Chevalier-Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet, Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, and a tiny holding in Le Montrachet).

Joseph Leflaive, whose vision and dedication in the early 20th century were pivotal, transformed the domaine into a symbol of excellence. In the 1990s, Anne-Claude Leflaive introduced biodynamic practices, adhering to rigorous standards that respect the natural rhythms of the earth, promoting soil health and vine vitality without synthetic chemicals. This holistic approach results in Chardonnay wines celebrated for their purity, depth, and complexity. Each bottle reflects the rich heritage and innovative spirit that have made Domaine Leflaive a revered name among wine enthusiasts.
