Puligny-Montrachet Les Perrières Henri Boillot 2023 is a Chardonnay from the esteemed Les Perrières climat, a Premier Cru site in Burgundy recognised for its exceptional minerality. The 2023 vintage combines ripe fruit characteristics with a backbone of bright acidity. Expect layers of citrus zest and stone fruits with a distinctive chalky minerality, creating an intense and precise structure. This wine offers the promise of extended cellaring.
Vinous
The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Les Perrières 1er Cru is laced with orange peel, burnt sugar, tropical fruit and a kiss of oak toast. It offers plenty of immediacy and the charm to match. Time in the glass brings out the wine’s salinity and overall tension, qualities that are nearly buried at the outset.Antonio Galloni1st February 2025

Father and Son

In some ways, Henri Boillot has one foot in the past and one in the present. His family domaine, which he manages with his son Guillaume, has a history dating back to the 1880s, but the wines produced from their Meursault-based winery are undeniably modern, approachable and ranked among some of the very best in the region. Alongside operating a highly successful négociant business, the Boillot family own around 14 hectares of vineyards in the Côte de Beaune including a Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru monopole in the form of Clos de la Mouchère.

The winery don't shy away from the use of new oak and any overtly woody character is generally well balanced by ripe fruit. The Chardonnays range from citrus driven and fresher at the villages level all the way to ripe, tropical and creamy at the Grand Cru level. The reds are lighter and more elegant than they used to be with Henri's son Guillaume preferring a less extracted style of Pinot Noir.
