Etienne Sauzet Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 2015 is a medium- to full-bodied Burgundy white wine from the Premier Cru climat of Les Folatières in the Puligny-Montrachet appellation of the Côte de Beaune. Domaine Etienne Sauzet is a biodynamic wine producer located in the village of Puligny-Montrachet. Founded in the first half of the 20th century by Etienne Sauzet, the estate is today managed by Emilie Boudot and Benoit Riffaul. On the 2015 Les Folatières. "As I have mentioned in the past, the domaine’s parcel of Folatières lies in the little plot known as En la Richarde, which lies upslope from Caillerets and is by a wide margin the most mineral-driven section of Folatières and to my palate, produces the most exciting wine from this premier cru. The 2015 Folatières from Domaine Sauzet is superb, jumping from the glass in a complex mélange of apple, lemon zest, tangerine, chalky minerality, orange blossoms and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and a bit more reserved in profile than most of these premier crus, with a fine core of ripe fruit, bright acids and lovely focus and grip on the long and complex finish. This will want a few years to fully blossom, but will prove to be outstanding." John Gilman, 2017

Very pale yellow. Reticent but pure aromas of peach, white flowers and hazelnut. Silky, juicy and nicely concentrated; a lovely elegant, energetic 2015 with smooth flavors of white peach and white flowers. This smooth, deep, very long wine is balanced to give early pleasure but should age well.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2017
