Based in Puligny-Montrachet, Domaine François Carillon is a family-owned estate covering approximately 6.5 hectares of vineyards. It produces a total of 18 different cuvées, from appellations in Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. This is the Domaine’s Premier Cru ‘Les Combettes’ made from vines that were planted in the early 1990s. The 2014 expression is a medium-bodied wine, evoking notes of apples, grapefruit, hazelnuts and some butter.

30% hailed. Young vines. Added another vineyard. Solid and competent. This would give pleasure but in a slightly less tense way than some other climats. Neat finish. (JR)Jancis Robinson12th November 2015
Vinous
(production was cut 30% by hail; from vines planted in 1992): Pale, green-tinged yellow. White peach and lime aromas are complicated by licorice and smoke. Fat, rich and sweet, with the musky lime quality carrying through on the palate. Could use a bit more shape but this chewy wine has good material and potential.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2015
