Jacques Carillon Puligny-Montrachet Les Champs Canet 2022 is a medium-bodied Burgundy white wine from the Premier Cru climat of Les Champs Canet in the Puligny-Montrachet appellation of the Côte de Beaune. The Carillon family has owned vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet since the 16th century. Jacques Carillon took over management of the domaine in the 1980s. Typically the Chardonnays of the domaine are barrel-fermented and aged for 12 months in small oak barrels followed by six months in stainless steel vats. "The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Champs Canet 1er Cru comes from a parcel towards the Meursault side. This has far more concentration than the Puligny Village. orchard fruit and lemon thyme, touches of flint coming through with time. The palate is well-balanced, with a bit of oak to be subsumed on the entry, fine grip and a concentrated finish. It may need more tension, but it should give a decade of drinking pleasure." Vinous
The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Champs Canet 1er Cru has an attractive, undergrowth-scented bouquet, with hints of blackcurrant leaf emerging with time. The palate is well balanced with a pleasant rondeur on the entry. It has a little lower acidity than I would like, though there is decent length. Fine.
