Based in Meursault, Vincent Girardin is a prestigious Burgundy Domaine covering approximately 22 hectares of estate vineyards. In 2012 the business was acquired by Jean-Pierre Nié, the owner of Compagnie des Vins d’Autrefois in Beaune. This release comes from the Domaine’s plot in the Premier Cru ‘Le Cailleret’, where the vines are over 70 years old. The 2001 vintage was particularly successful for Meursault, which are both concentrated and have good acidity.

Tightly coiled aromas of pineapple, peach, brioche and nut meal. Juicy, youthful and firm-edged, with impressive density and palate presence and strong minerality. The wine's very firm acidity extends the bracing flavors of pineapple, lemon and stone.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2003
