Domaine Jacques Carillon Puligny-Montrachet 2021 is a white Burgundy from the village of Puligny-Montrachet in the Côte de Beaune. The Carillon family has owned vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet since the 16th century. Jacques Carillon took over management of the domaine in the 1980s. Typically the Chardonnays of the domaine are barrel-fermented and aged for 12 months in small oak barrels followed by six months in stainless steel vats. "Glowing yellow colour, quite backward, good energy. A little bitterness, not the wealth of the hotter years, but good tension. Second cuvée a little less colour and power but fuller on the palate, a more classical succulence. Third also discreet on the nose but poised with good acidity. And some length. Going to work very well." Jasper Morris MW, 2022
Vinous
The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Village has a strict bouquet that is reminiscent of a fine Chablis. Fine definition. The palate is well-balanced, strict, very saline and quite penetrating with a very malic finish. This is quite difficult to hold on to now.Neal Martin5th January 2023
