Puligny-Montrachet Henri Boillot 2023 is a village-level Chardonnay from the Côte de Beaune region of Burgundy. The 2023 vintage reflects the producer`s commitment to terroir expression and clarity. This wine reveals a bouquet of citrus, green apple and flint, showcasing the mineral character typical of Puligny-Montrachet. It is structured with a fine acidity that provides a backbone to its creamy texture.
Vinous
Boillot’s 2023 Puligny-Montrachet is a fairly straightforward, easygoing wine. Floral top notes, spice and a touch of tropical fruit open nicely. All this needs is a bit more depth in the mid-palate, something that seems missing here but is evident in many other wines, including the village Meursault.Antonio Galloni1st February 2025

Father and Son

In some ways, Henri Boillot has one foot in the past and one in the present. His family domaine, which he manages with his son Guillaume, has a history dating back to the 1880s, but the wines produced from their Meursault-based winery are undeniably modern, approachable and ranked among some of the very best in the region. Alongside operating a highly successful négociant business, the Boillot family own around 14 hectares of vineyards in the Côte de Beaune including a Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru monopole in the form of Clos de la Mouchère.

The winery don't shy away from the use of new oak and any overtly woody character is generally well balanced by ripe fruit. The Chardonnays range from citrus driven and fresher at the villages level all the way to ripe, tropical and creamy at the Grand Cru level. The reds are lighter and more elegant than they used to be with Henri's son Guillaume preferring a less extracted style of Pinot Noir.
