Puligny-Montrachet Hameau de Blagny 2017 from Comtesse de Cherisey is a Premier Cru white Burgundy from the Côte de Beaune. Comtesse de Cherisey is a highly traditional estate working with an exclusive high-elevation parcel within the Hameau de Blagny climat. This results in wines known for their structural tension. This wine displays a tight mineral profile, offering concentrated aromas of green apple, lemon zest, wet stone and subtle cashew nut. The palate is linear and intense, showcasing purity and structural persistence.

The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Hameau de Blagny offers up an ethereal nose of citrus oil, white flowers and crushed chalk. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, taut and searingly mineral, yet it is neither tart nor austere; it`s simply a beautifully transparent expression of this high-altitude, stony site. The chalky, penetrating finish will delight lovers of racy white Burgundy. - William Kelley

The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Hameau de Blagny 1er Cru comes from the vineyard that Remi Colin believes is the most complex in warm vintages due to the shallow soil. The harvest is approached as five parcels according to the depth of the soil. This has a more introverted bouquet compared to the Chalumaux, revealing hints of white flower, honeysuckle, lemon thyme and crushed stone – just beautiful. The palate is very well balanced, displaying more complexity than the Chalumaux, finely judged acidity and so much elegance on the saline finish that you just want to take the next sip straight away.
