Etienne Sauzet is a family-run wine producer, known for its exquisite Chardonnay expressions. This release is their village-level Puligny-Montrachet, a blend composed of 12 parcels spread over seven lieux-dits. The 1999 vintage in Burgundy produced wines of good quality with excellent ripeness and balance. The weather conditions throughout the growing season were favourable, leading to healthy grapes and good concentration.

Ripe peach on the nose. Fat, full and rich for village wine, with sweet flavors of citrus fruits and flowers. Has finesse. This is more representative of a village wine than the Chassagne-Montrachet, notes Boudot, but it a blend of nine parcels while the Chassagne is entirely from old vines in Enseigneres.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2001
