Puligny-Montrachet Domaine Leflaive 2023 is a Chardonnay sourced from the renowned Puligny-Montrachet appellation in Burgundy. This vintage reflects a meticulous selection from various vineyard parcels within the commune. The wine undergoes fermentation in a mix of new and used oak casks. On the nose, it reveals aromas of citrus zest and stone fruit alongside a light nuttiness. The palate combines precision with texture, featuring a defined mineral backbone and crisp acidity, characteristic of the Leflaive style and the vineyards` esteemed Puligny terroir.

The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Village is a big step up from the Bourgogne Blanc in this vintage, with crisp green apple, crushed stone and light orange blossom scents. The palate is fresh and taut with a silver bead of acidity. Vibrant, surfeit and energetic, this is a seriously fine Village Cru flirting with Premier Cru complexity. Neal Martin20th August 2025

The pinnacle of Puligny-Montrachet

Founded in the 18th century, Domaine Leflaive has built a storied reputation for its commitment to biodynamic farming and exceptional craftsmanship. The estate owns 22 hectares of vineyards, including 10 hectares of Premiers Crus in Puligny-Montrachet (Les Combettes, Les Pucelles, Le Clavoillon, Les Folatières), as well as no fewer than 5 hectares of Grands Crus (Chevalier-Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet, Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, and a tiny holding in Le Montrachet).

Joseph Leflaive, whose vision and dedication in the early 20th century were pivotal, transformed the domaine into a symbol of excellence. In the 1990s, Anne-Claude Leflaive introduced biodynamic practices, adhering to rigorous standards that respect the natural rhythms of the earth, promoting soil health and vine vitality without synthetic chemicals. This holistic approach results in Chardonnay wines celebrated for their purity, depth, and complexity.
