Puligny-Montrachet Champs Canet Ramonet 2016 is a Premier Cru Chardonnay from the Côte de Beaune. This parcel sits on the border with Meursault, where the clay-limestone soils produce a wine of significant power and richness. The 2016 harvest was restricted by spring frosts, leading to low yields and high concentration in the remaining fruit. Fermentation in traditional Burgundian piéces has imparted a subtle spice and textural depth to the citrus and orchard fruit profile. It possesses a broad mid-palate balanced by a piercing acidity that is characteristic of the Ramonet style.

Vinous
Pale yellow. Peach and fresh apricot aromas convey a sweet yet lively impression. Classically dry and a bit youthfully tight but with excellent density and breadth to its stone fruit flavors. Despite the wine's firm acidity, it's ultimately more relaxed than Ramonet's top premier crus from Chassagne-Montrachet.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2018
