Situated in Prémeaux-Prissey, Domaine de la Vougeraie was established in 1999 when wine entrepreneur Jean-Claude Boisset opted to centralize all the vineyard holdings from his various négociant companies accumulated over the years. This particular cuvée originates from the Premier Cru `Champ Gain,` where the domaine possesses a 0.32-hectare plot with vines planted in 2008. The 2022 vintage proves to be highly promising, showcasing Burgundy`s ability to maintain its distinctive character even in the presence of increasingly extreme weather conditions.
Vinous
- The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Champ Gain 1er Cru has a reductive nose, maybe a little more than I would have liked, as it suppressed the terroir expression at the moment. The palate is also somewhat reductive, so that, perversely, I am actually more drawn to the Village Cru.

Located between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune in Prémeaux, Domaine de la Vougeraie was founded by Jean-Claude Boisset in 1999. The name was inspired by domaine’s significant vineyard holdings in the village of Vougeot, which is also Boisset’s home.

One of Burgundy’s leading domaines, Vougeraie owns about 40ha of vineyard in more than 30 different appellations of Burgundy, including the Grands Crus of Clos Vougeot, Musigny, Bonnes-Mares, Charmes Chambertin, Mazoyères, Corton Clos du Roi and Corton Charlemagne. The domaine vineyards have been managed biodynamically since 2001. The highest possible production values and strictest levels of quality control, including a state-of-the-art sorting table, are maintained for the domaine’s entire range of wines. The domaine’s general manager, Sylvie Poillot, has managed the winemaking team since Pierre Vincent departed for Domaine Leflaive.
