The 2010 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gain from Domaine François Carillon is a mature Burgundy white wine from an illustrious Premier Cru. It presents aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits, accompanied by nuances of flint and stone. The wine features a notable acidity that enhances its structure, leading to a precise, mineral finish. François Carillon, who assumed control of the domaine in 2010, continues the family legacy of crafting terroir-driven white Burgundies. The estate utilises vines in the higher, less fertile areas of Champ Gain, promoting the distinct tension and complexity typical of this site.

Apricots, peaches, smoke and crushed rocks are some of the many nuances that emerge from Carillon's 2010 Puligny-Montrachet Les Champ Gains. Veins of underlying minerality give the Champ Gains its energy but also serve to balance the fruit beautifully. This is one of Carillon's more overt, expansive wines. A crescendo of aromas and flavors builds to the enveloping, seductive finish. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the Champs Gains is yet another standout in a range full of frankly great wines.
