Château Prieuré-Lichine is a Fourth Growth producer situated within the Margaux appellation. It has a long history, dating back to the 12th century when it was a monastery. The modern-day Château Prieuré-Lichine was established in the 1950s when renowned wine writer Alexis Lichine acquired the property and significantly improved its wine quality and reputation. The 1983 vintage displays aromas of blackcurrant, dried cherry, tobacco, cedar, and earthy notes. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, with softened tannins, balanced acidity, and mature fruit flavours. The finish is elegant and persistent.
