Founded in 1998 by Jérôme Prévost, Champagne La Closerie is a small-scale producer that has garnered a devoted following for its exceptional champagnes, primarily made from Pinot Meunier. This latest offering is sourced from select plots in Gueux, sharing the Thanetian sands with Les Béguines. Some parcels are cultivated by Jérôme and his crew, while others are managed by the landowners. Showcasing the pinnacle of what a high-quality Blanc De Noir from Pinot Meunier can be, this cuvée is based on the 2018 vintage.

The NV La Closerie (base 2022) is 100% Meunier, mostly purchased fruit from vineyards in and around Gueux. It's a terrific introduction to the range. Creamy and silky, with striking purity of fruit, La Closerie is all charm. There's a ton of Meunier character. Hints of tobacco, cedar, menthol and dried flowers build into the expansive, sustained finish. Soft contours wrap it all together in style. There is a bit of residual sugar, around 5-6 grams from the blocked prise de mousse, but no dosage. This release is based on 2022 with about 20% reserve wines. Antonio Galloni8th April 2025
