Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

From the Pauillac appellation, Pontet Canet 2015 is a Fifth Growth Bordeaux red blend, primarily composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The estate is renowned for its commitment to biodynamic practices under the guidance of Alfred Tesseron. This vintage achieved an alcohol level of 13.5%, benefiting from a warm season that enhanced fruit concentration and tannin structure. The wine underwent ageing in a mix of 50% new French oak and 35% concrete amphorae, which aim to replicate the vineyard`s unique clay characteristics. Aromas include Blackcurrants, graphite, and violets, offering a distilled experience of Pauillac`s mineral-driven essence.

Vibrant plum colour, followed by spiced plum on the nose, more exotic in its range of flavours and silky texture than many vintages, still powerful and in its primary fruit phase. This is a gorgeous wine, hard to argue with, showing estate character over appellation or vintage. The tannins are softer at this stage that you will find with the 2016, even the 2014, but there is so much pleasure in the glass, and it will power ahead for decades. Harvest September 18 to October 3. This was the vintage where Tesseron decided to make no more Les Hauts de Pontet, with everything going either into the first wine, or declassified, as he felt both that the vineyard had reached the level he wanted, and also that philosophically that he wanted the wine to be a true reflection of the whole vineyard.Jane Anson15th October 2021

The 2015 Pontet Canet has a lovely bouquet with a mixture of red and black fruit, cedar and subtle tobacco scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy ripe tannins, smooth texture and a sheen of classy new oak with a dab of spice that enlivens the finish. The 2015 is primal for being ten years old—this is one I would keep cellared. It was tasted blind at the 2015 Bordeaux Ten-Year-On tasting. Neal Martin3rd June 2025

50% new oak. 35% amphora. 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 3%Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot. Picked relatively early, 18 September to 3 October, because they ripen earlier. Dark purplish crimson. Very ripe start and then rather drying tannins on the end. Wild and lively but a little bit heavy. I`m looking for a little more freshness. There`s austerity and astringency (because of the amphorae influence?) but I`m not sure it compensates for the lack of acidity. Savoury, salty finish. Distinctive. (JR)

Quality and Consistency

Château Pontet-Canet is a highly-regarded Fifth Growth wine estate in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux. In recent years, Pontet-Canet has become one of Bordeaux’s most innovative wine estates, implementing biodynamic practices in the vineyards, and introducing alternative fermentation and ageing vessels, such as concrete eggs – all in the pursuit of ever greater quality and purity in its wines.

Pontet-Canet produces Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blends with Merlot and smaller proportions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wines are typically full-bodied with excellent purity of fruit and considerable ageing potential. High critical acclaim for recent vintages, in particular from 2009 and 2010 onwards, has propelled the estate into the ranks of the best-performing producers in Pauillac. The estate is owned by Alfred and Michel Tesseron, members of a family of leading producer of fine aged Cognacs, who also own Château Lafon-Rochet in St-Estèphe.
