Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Pontet Canet 2002 is a Left Bank Bordeaux blend from the Pauillac appellation, primarily comprising Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The vineyard, certified organic since 2010, benefits from biodynamic viticultural practices. The wine is characterised by its moderate body and firm tannins, reflecting careful selection and minimal yields. Anticipated maturity extends into the late 2020s, making it an interesting candidate for cellar ageing.

This wine has seemingly gone to sleep and is in a dormant, ungracious stage, exhibiting notes of green tea leaves intermixed with red and black currants in its dusty nose. A medium-bodied wine with moderately high tannin and a certain austerity, it seems to be a much less impressive effort than I thought from barrel or is it just impossibly closed? There is still substantial size and tannic clout to the wine, but the fruit seems to have gone into hiding. Anticipated maturity. 2011-2020+.

As most well-informed insiders in Bordeaux know, proprietor Alfred Tesseron has been doing everything right since 1994 in order to fully develop the enormous potential of this vineyard adjacent to Mouton-Rothschild. Some serious work is done in the vineyard including de-budding, de-leafing, and crop-thinning. The harvest usually takes place in several attempts trying to maximize ripeness and there are two separate sorting tables. Yields have dropped dramatically, and of course there is a severe selection. - Robert M. Parker, Jr.

Quality and Consistency

Château Pontet-Canet is a highly-regarded Fifth Growth wine estate in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux. In recent years, Pontet-Canet has become one of Bordeaux’s most innovative wine estates, implementing biodynamic practices in the vineyards, and introducing alternative fermentation and ageing vessels, such as concrete eggs – all in the pursuit of ever greater quality and purity in its wines.

Pontet-Canet produces Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blends with Merlot and smaller proportions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wines are typically full-bodied with excellent purity of fruit and considerable ageing potential. High critical acclaim for recent vintages, in particular from 2009 and 2010 onwards, has propelled the estate into the ranks of the best-performing producers in Pauillac. The estate is owned by Alfred and Michel Tesseron, members of a family of leading producer of fine aged Cognacs, who also own Château Lafon-Rochet in St-Estèphe.
