Domaine Robert Ampeau Pommard 1999 is a mature-vintage Burgundy red wine from the Pommard appellation of the Côte de Beaune. Located in the village of Meursault, Domaine Robert Ampeau is celebrated for its unwavering commitment to traditional winemaking, embracing strict organic principles and sustainable viticulture practices. Owner-winemaker Michel Ampeau is unusual in Burgundy in only releasing wines from when they are fully mature. This is certainly the case with this release from Pommard – an appellation in which dense, clay soils produce relatively tannic, structured Pinot Noirs that can take considerable time to mellow.
