Pommard La Levrière Vieilles Vignes Bernard Dugat-Py 2010 is a red Burgundy entirely crafted from Pinot Noir, sourced from old vines located in the renowned La Levrière lieu-dit vineyard within Pommard, Côte de Beaune. Domaine Bernard Dugat-Py, a family-run estate known for its rigorous selection process, manages a mere 0.30 hectares in this plot, where the vines are over 80 years old. The wine exhibits a complex profile, featuring dark cherry, blackcurrant and earthy notes typical of its clay-limestone terroir. The palate presents firm tannins and vibrant acidity, contributing to its structured finish.

The 2010 Pommard La Levrière Vieilles Vignes shows the intensity and structure of this site. It comes across as a bit compact when tasted next to the domaine's other 2010s. The Levrière stands out for its energy, drive and focus. It will be interesting to see if this fills out over time. Dugat used 60% whole bunches here. Antonio Galloni1st February 2012
