Lejeune Pommard Argillières 1988 is a mature-vintage Burgundy red wine from the Premier Cru climat of Argillières in the Pommard appellation of the Côte de Beaune. Domaine Lejeune is a respected Pommard property that, until 2004, was managed by François Jullien de Pommard, the former oenology professor at Beaune`s Lycée Viticole. The domaine vinifies its wines with whole clusters, meaning a semi-carbonic fermentation such as is common in Beaujolais. The wines tend to be very structured in their youth but age very well.
