Château Picard 2010 is a distinguished red wine from the Saint-Estèphe appellation in Bordeaux, France, holding the classification of Cru Bourgeois. The blend for this vintage typically features a high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon (often around 85-90%) complemented by Merlot (around 10-15%), reflecting Saint-Estèphe`s gravelly, clay-rich soils that are particularly well-suited to Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2010 vintage in Bordeaux was widely heralded as exceptional, resulting in powerful and structured wines with excellent aging potential. Winemaking at Château Picard, owned by Mähler-Besse, involves traditional fermentation methods and aging for 14-18 months in French oak barrels (with a portion of new oak). The 2010 Château Picard, now with significant bottle age, is known for its dark colour and profile of blackcurrant, dark berry fruits, cedar, tobacco and subtle spicy notes.
