Phelan Segur 1990 is a blend of approximately 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 15% Cabernet Franc. This vintage showcases a structured profile, with evident tannins and a complexity that reflects its age. The wine exhibits dark fruit characteristics, alongside earthy undertones that are typical of its appellation. Phelan Segur, located in Saint-Estèphe, has been producing wine since the 17th century and is known for its consistent quality over the decades. This vintage provides an illustrative example of its heritage.

Saturated medium color, with a hint of brick. Expressive, somewhat roasted aromas of smoke, tobacco, clove and leather. A wave of ripe, velvety fruit currently offers limited delineation of flavor, but there's a spine beneath that flesh. Fruit currently overshadows substantial ripe, dusty tannins.
