Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Petrus is undoubtedly one of the most revered wines in the world and is often considered the pinnacle of the Pomerol appellation. Almost always made from 100% Merlot, the style of Petrus is unique and in the best vintages often achieves levels of aromatic complexity, richness and silky texture that others simply cannot. It is an exceptionally long-lived wine and can often require significant cellaring before reaching maturity and expressing its true essence.

1995 was a complex vintage with exceptionally small yields and the ability of the great producers to still make profound wines is what separates them from the rest. This is classic Petrus with huge richness of fruit, remarkably opulent texture and immense complexity throughout.

The 1995 Petrus is one of the finest vintages of the decade, a silver medal behind the brilliant 1998. This bottle might well constitute the best that I have encountered. It has a beautiful, focused nose with hints of game and humidor infusing the black fruit. With aeration more red fruit becomes evident, allied with a touch of roasted chestnut. The palate is supremely well balanced, slightly gamey and with impressive grip. There is a bit of chutzpah about this Petrus, the way in which it fans out towards the finish. You could broach bottles now, although this example suggests that it is going to be very interesting to follow over the next 20 years. Tasted at the Petrus dinner at Hide restaurant in London. Producing one of the most revered red wines in the world, Petrus was the first Pomerol estate to win a gold medal in the Paris Exposition Universelle in 1878. Indeed, Petrus' world class reputation speaks for itself and it is often considered the pinnacle of Bordeaux' s Right Bank Pomerol appellation.

Spanning 11.7ha, the Petrus vineyards are characterised by their distinctive sticky blue clay soils, producing wonderfully powerful, complex wines with glorious aromatics and texture and an extraordinary capacity for aging. Almost always made from 100% Merlot, the style of Petrus is unique and in the best vintages often achieves levels of aromatic complexity, richness and silky texture that others simply cannot. Despite wonderfully warming levels of alcohol, this is a wine that is balanced by beautiful freshness.
