The Peter Michael Mon Plaisir Chardonnay 2015 is a single-vineyard white wine from the esteemed Peter Michael Winery, situated within the Knights Valley AVA of Sonoma County, California. Crafted exclusively from Chardonnay grapes sourced from the Mon Plaisir vineyard, this high-elevation site on Mount Saint Helena features volcanic soils that contribute to the wine`s distinct profile. The winemaking process adheres to Burgundian methods, including hand-harvesting, whole-cluster pressing and fermentation in French oak barrels, with a notable portion of new oak. This vintage reflects a complex composition of orchard fruits, citrus and a mineral backbone.

The 2015 Chardonnay Mon Plaisir is wonderfully fleshy and inviting. Orange peel, passion fruit, mint and chamomile notes abound in this super-expressive, succulent Chardonnay. All the elements fall into place in a sumptuous yet impeccably balanced wine long on class and personality.Antonio Galloni1st July 2018

Inspired by the Médoc and Côte d'Or

Peter Michael Winery was founded by British businessman Sir Peter Michael in the early 1980s with a singular vision - to make wine in the terroir-driven tradition of Burgundy and Bordeaux, under the California sun and in California soil. The winery currently produce around fifteen wines using four varietals - Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

Consistency and quality are the watchwords here - the wines are clearly inspired by the poise and precision of their Old World counterparts but can't help expressing an edge of Californian excess - ripe fruit abounds on the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir while the Cabernet Sauvignons have a density and concentration that many Bordelais would envy.
