Peter Michael Winery was founded by British businessman Sir Peter Michael in the early 1980s with a singular vision. "to make wine in the terroir-driven tradition of Burgundy and Bordeaux, under the California sun and in California soil". Consistency and quality are the principles here – the wines are clearly inspired by the poise and precision of their Old World counterparts but can`t help expressing an edge of Californian richness.

Ma Belle-Fille was named as a tribute to Sir Peter’s daughter in law, mother of the third generation of the family. The fruit hails from the highest elevation on the estate, with cooling ocean influences.

2014, a varied vintage resulted in a lower yield but much concentration. The wine showcases a ripe citrus and peach characteristics, with honey and almond, complemented by an underlying minerality.

The 2014 Chardonnay Ma Belle-Fille is one of the most exuberant wines in this range. Rich, creamy and voluptuous, Ma Belle-Fille emphasizes buttery and honey notes, along with an unctuous expression of Chardonnay. Antonio Galloni1st August 2016

Peter Michael Winery was founded by British businessman Sir Peter Michael in the early 1980s with a singular vision - to make wine in the terroir-driven tradition of Burgundy and Bordeaux, under the California sun and in California soil. The winery currently produce around fifteen wines using four varietals - Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

Consistency and quality are the watchwords here - the wines are clearly inspired by the poise and precision of their Old World counterparts but can't help expressing an edge of Californian excess - ripe fruit abounds on the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir while the Cabernet Sauvignons have a density and concentration that many Bordelais would envy.
