‘La Carrière’ 2020 is a refined Chardonnay from the acclaimed Peter Michael Winery, based in Sonoma County. Sourced from the La Carrière vineyard, it reveals a captivating nose of lemon zest, green apple and wet stone, underscored by hints of well-integrated oak. The palate combines bright acidity and minerality, boasting notes of citrus fruits, white peach and a subtle touch of almond. Available here in a magnum bottle.

The 2020 Chardonnay La Carrier is the most successful of the 2020 Peter Michael Chardonnays. Lemon confit, white flowers, sage, tangerine oil and light tropical accents all grace this mid-weight, nervy Chardonnay. There is good depth and creaminess here, within the context of the year.Antonio Galloni16th June 2022

Inspired by the Médoc and Côte d'Or

Peter Michael Winery was founded by British businessman Sir Peter Michael in the early 1980s with a singular vision - to make wine in the terroir-driven tradition of Burgundy and Bordeaux, under the California sun and in California soil. The winery currently produce around fifteen wines using four varietals - Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

Consistency and quality are the watchwords here - the wines are clearly inspired by the poise and precision of their Old World counterparts but can't help expressing an edge of Californian excess - ripe fruit abounds on the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir while the Cabernet Sauvignons have a density and concentration that many Bordelais would envy.
