Hailing from the heart of Oakville, `Au Paradis` is a stellar single vineyard estate Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2014 vintage is made up of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon and 24% Cabernet Franc aged for 18 months in 100% French oak barrels. In the words of the winemaker, "The nose offers elegant notes of cassis, black cherry, chocolate, licorice, cloves, cinnamon and an exotic touch of orange. In the mouth, the texture is velvety and loaded with black currant, liqueur of cassis, game, black berry liqueur, black olives, coconut, plum eau-de-vie, and an iron-like minerality. The mouth feel is round, refined, complex and meaty with an incredible length of finish. The 2014 Au Paradis will continue to age gracefully for three decades or more."
One of the many highlights in this range, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Au Paradis is simply fabulous. Mocha, smoke, espresso, chocolate and racy new oak wrap around a plush core of dark fruit in a Cabernet of arresting beauty and total allure. The 2014 has an explosive energy that balances some of its more flamboyant leanings to great effect. This is a stellar showing from Peter Michael.Antonio Galloni1st July 2018

Inspired by the Médoc and Côte d'Or
Peter Michael Winery was founded by British businessman Sir Peter Michael in the early 1980s with a singular vision - to make wine in the terroir-driven tradition of Burgundy and Bordeaux, under the California sun and in California soil. The winery currently produce around fifteen wines using four varietals - Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
Consistency and quality are the watchwords here - the wines are clearly inspired by the poise and precision of their Old World counterparts but can't help expressing an edge of Californian excess - ripe fruit abounds on the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir while the Cabernet Sauvignons have a density and concentration that many Bordelais would envy.
