Le Pauillac de Château Latour is the third wine of Latour and it has been produced every year since 1989. It is made primarily from young vines, growing on the less prestigious plots in the vineyard. Typically, a generous fruity wine, it is an excellent introduction to Château Latour’s portfolio.

Vinous
The 2012 Pauillac de Château Latour is in an ideal spot for drinking now. The dried cherry, tobacco, mint, licorice, smoke and game flavors are nicely pushed forward. Even so, the 2012 is starting to fray around the edges, and there is an element of gaminess that suggests some brett and gives the wine its obviously rustic personality. I would prefer to drink the 2012 sooner rather than later.

A Towering First Growth
Situated on the Bordeaux's Left Bank in the appellation of Pauillac, this superb First Growth is produced from the estate's 92ha of vines, spread across 138 plots, (47 hectares of which are located in renowned 'L'Enclos'). The clay and gravel soils give superbly concentrated, textural Cabernet Sauvignon dominant reds, with Merlot and smaller percentages of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc making up the blend.
The estate also produces two further celebrated reds, Les Forts de Latour and Pauillac de Latour. Certified organic since 2018, biodynamic techniques are also used in the vineyard.
