Palmer Historical XIX Century 2021 is a full-bodied red wine created by the renowned Château Palmer. This experimental wine pays homage to the historical practice of blending wines from different regions, particularly popular in the 19th century. The blend consists primarily of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with a smaller proportion of wines from the northern Côtes du Rhône region. The result is a complex, full-bodied wine with notes of black fruit, spice, and oak. It`s a departure from the traditional single-region wines produced by Château Palmer, offering a fascinating glimpse into the past of winemaking.

Classic, Concentrated Margaux

Château Palmer is a 3ème Cru Classé property and is one of the most celebrated estates in the Margaux appellation in Bordeaux, renowned for producing rich and opulent wines with exceptional longevity. The 55 hectare estate is characterised by its mixture of fine and sandy gravels, together with clay soils. The key grape varieties are old vine Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, all farmed biodynamically, resulting in superbly elegant, velvety wines with a wonderful capacity to age and evolve in bottle.

In addition to the first wine, Château Palmer, the estate produces a second red from specific plots, Alter Ego de Palmer. Created to be as equally terroir-driven and expressive as the Grand Vin, the Alter Ego is supple, rounded and more approachable in youth.
