Competitive storage rates: £15 per 12-bottle case per year, £7.50 per 6-bottle case per year, equivalent to £1.25 per standard bottle. Alternative formats will be charged accordingly.

Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Located within the Margaux appellation, Château Palmer was formerly a part of the d`Issan estate and derives its name from Major General Charles Palmer of the British Army, who acquired the property in 1814. Uncommon for the Médoc, Château Palmer typically incorporates an equal measure of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in its blend, complemented by a touch of Petit Verdot. The 2002 vintage remains youthful and untamed, yet its vibrant acidity, fresh fruit, and impressive tension create an exceptionally appealing framework. Expect notes of espresso, red and dark cherry, herbal complexity of tea and dried herbs, all of which topped off by pencil shavings.

Plenty of upfront raspberry and blackberry fruits, not as elegant as the 2001 but with structure and concentration. Touches of white pepper spice, along with gunsmoke and cigar box as it opens, this is enjoyable and has a skip of acidity that keeps your mouth watering and keeps momentum drawing you forward through the palate. Harvest September 26 to October 7, 60% new oak. Palmer avoided some of the heavier rains that affected much of Bordeaux during harvest (just 5mm on this spot in the biggest storm of September 20), and was seen as one of the wines of the vintage. The 2002 Palmer has a well-defined bouquet with smudged red fruit, melted tar, dark chocolate and mint. This has held up well over two decades, but it is missing some of Palmer's DNA. The palate is medium-bodied, simple yet balanced, with fine acidity and firm tannins. It lacks some vigor and comes across as rather austere and more Saint-Julien in style on the finish. Not bad, though I prefer the 2000 or 2001 by comparison. Tasted at the Palmer vertical at the château.Neal Martin1st August 2023

Classic, Concentrated Margaux

Château Palmer is a 3ème Cru Classé property and is one of the most celebrated estates in the Margaux appellation in Bordeaux, renowned for producing rich and opulent wines with exceptional longevity. The 55 hectare estate is characterised by its mixture of fine and sandy gravels, together with clay soils. The key grape varieties are old vine Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, all farmed biodynamically, resulting in superbly elegant, velvety wines with a wonderful capacity to age and evolve in bottle.

In addition to the first wine, Château Palmer, the estate produces a second red from specific plots, Alter Ego de Palmer. Created to be as equally terroir-driven and expressive as the Grand Vin, the Alter Ego is supple, rounded and more approachable in youth.
