Château Palmer is a 3ème Cru Classé property and is one of the most celebrated estates in the Margaux appellation, renowned for producing rich and opulent wines with exceptional longevity. The 2015 is another in a long line of sensational releases since the start of the decade. A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot, it is generous, multi-layered and remarkably complex. Though still too young to be approaching just yet, this will almost certainly evolve beautifully over the next 20-30 years.

Luscious without shouting, expanding slowly, surely and confidently through the palate, silky tannins, satin and pumice stone, great appellation signature with its floral pillow and savoury spiced raspberry and crushed rocks. 60% new oak. Thomas Duroux director. Harvest September 22 to October 7. At this point the estate was fully in conversion, working 100% organically and biodynamically.Jane Anson19th February 2025

The 2015 Palmer has an opulent, high-toned bouquet with blackberry, raspberry and cassis fruit. This is typical Palmer in many ways, though you could well argue that it's not as nuanced as the Rauzan-Ségla. The palate is medium-bodied with a silky texture, stunning balance and poise with white pepper-tinged black fruit, gentle grip and a very persistent and satisfying finish. Bon vin! Classic, Concentrated Margaux

Château Palmer is a 3ème Cru Classé property and is one of the most celebrated estates in the Margaux appellation in Bordeaux, renowned for producing rich and opulent wines with exceptional longevity. The 55 hectare estate is characterised by its mixture of fine and sandy gravels, together with clay soils. The key grape varieties are old vine Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, all farmed biodynamically, resulting in superbly elegant, velvety wines with a wonderful capacity to age and evolve in bottle.

In addition to the first wine, Château Palmer, the estate produces a second red from specific plots, Alter Ego de Palmer. Created to be as equally terroir-driven and expressive as the Grand Vin, the Alter Ego is supple, rounded and more approachable in youth.
