Palafreno Querciabella 2010 reveals an intriguing profile marked by dark fruit aromas of black cherry and plum, alongside subtle notes of spice and herbal undertones. The structured palate showcases firm tannins and balanced acidity, providing a solid backbone. A lengthy finish suggests the wine`s capability for further aging, although it can be enjoyed now.

This wine is crafted primarily from Sangiovese grapes, sourced from the Chianti Classico region. Querciabella is noted for its biodynamic practices and commitment to sustainable viticulture. The 2010 vintage benefited from a warm growing season, contributing to the wine’s concentrated flavors. It`s a complex expression of its terroir, exemplifying the characteristics typical of high-quality Chianti.

The 2010 Palafreno is wonderfully polished and vibrant. Firm yet well-integrated tannins provide the backbone for a Merlot endowed with considerable energy. Savory herbs, tobacco and wild flowers all add complexity. The 2010 is first and foremost a wine of Greve. Varietal character is much harder to identify, as the Merlot has now become pretty much domesticated in these pristine, hillside vineyards. Still, there is an attractive, perfumed juiciness to the finish that is a giveaway. Sadly, there will be very little of the 2010 to go around, as most of the harvest was enjoyed by local boars with exceptionally fine taste. - Antonio Galloni - The 2010 Palafreno is wonderfully polished and vibrant.
