Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Year in year out, Ornellaia shows remarkable consistency and is rightly considered an Italian great. A blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot. A vintage characterised by very hot, dry weather, fully ripe fruit on the nose with toasty complexity. Powerful concentration on the palate with silk-smooth, glossy tannins leading to a long and spicy finish.

Fully saturated ruby. Reticent aromas of deep black fruits and spices complemented by menthol, grilled herbs and vanillin oak. Dense, sweet and powerful but still quite primary, conveying a distinctly high pitch to its ripe black cherry, violet and coffee flavors. Finishes saline, tannic and very long, with impressive muscle and noteworthy medicinal reserve. A huge but very successful Ornellaia that I would have scored even higher had it showed even more length.Ian d'Agata1st December 2014

Still young at 12 years old, this was a hot, dry vintage with a growth cycle around 10 days in advance of normal, and yet is filled with elegance and juice. Still very young, with the vibrant plum colour alone making you confident for its ageing potential. In the cellar, this was a time when the Ornellaia team was in full extraction phase, but alongside smoked cumin, Mediterranean herbs, truffles, liqourice, cocoa bean and firm tannins, there is still a purity to the fruit (one of the felllow tasters said, 'if you were making mistakes at this point, they were the right ones'). The balance was helped by a cooler June and July, and all harvest finished by the end of September. 70% new oak barrels for ageing. Blending after 12 months in barrel, then a further six months, before being kept in bottle at the estate for 12 months before release. Axel Heinz winemaker.Jane Anson3rd October 2023

Ornellaia

A Legendary Super Tuscan

Founded in 1981 by Marchese Lodovico Antinori, the wines of the Ornellaia estate show remarkable consistency and are rightly considered an Italian great. Famed for its legendary Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated Super Tuscan wine (blended with a smaller percentage of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot), the Tenuta dell'Ornellaia lies near Bolgheri in Tuscany, on the Mediterranean coast. Renowned winemaker Axel Heinz was first appointed in 2002.

Starting with the release of the 2006 vintage in 2009, Ornellaia has produced the highly coveted Vendemmia d'Artista series; a celebration of the unique character of each new vintage in which a contemporary artist creates a work of art and a series of limited edition labels drawing inspiration from the single word chosen by the winemaker to describe the character of the new vintage. Celebrated contemporary artists have included Shirin Neshat, William Kentridge and Ernesto Neto.

The Ornellaia estate also produces a beautiful white wine, Ornellaia Bianco, which is a white blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier; the superb Sauvignon Blanc-dominant Poggio alle Gazze; a beautiful red Mediterranean expression known as Le Volte dell'Ornellaia; the 'second' red wine, Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia and a late harvest Petit Manseng sweet wine known as Ornus.
