Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

The 1979 vintage marked the first release of Opus One, a joint venture between pioneering Californian winemaker Robert Mondavi and the late Baron Philippe de Rothschild. Ever since, the winery has sealed for itself an incredible reputation for producing some of the highest quality Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines in Napa. The 2015 is a glorious wine of remarkable depth, with complex notes of dark fruits, cocoa, violets, black tea and sage. Imbued with beautiful innate freshness and fineness of structure, this will age beautifully.

The 2015 Opus One is every bit as glorious as it was on release. I am so taken with the wine's freshness and verve. Flowers, red-toned fruit, spice and blood orange are very finely delineated. In its youth, the 2015 was decidedly exotic and flamboyant. Time has done a lot to settle down some of that initial exuberance. Today, the 2015 doesn't have the mid-palate body of some years, but that actually plays in its favor. The profile is also distinctly on the red-fruited end of the spectrum. 2015 was the hottest vintage of the decade, and this remains spicy, concentrated, with incense, rosemary, sandalwood and cumin. A baby for sure, needs more time in bottle and even at ten years old I would say it is not ready. Intense and luscious, with a touch of olive tapenade, creme de cassis and smoked caramel, slight drying quality to the closing tannins, this is the only one that for me is tasting less good than it did in 2019. 21 days skin contact, Michael Silacci director. The warmest year since 2008, the 2015 growing season set a record for early bloom. Drought conditions persisted, and rainfall was erratic, with most of the much-needed rain falling at the end of the previous year and supplemented by only a single storm in February, just enough water to sustain the vines. Cooler conditions during flowering ultimately lead to a smaller number of berries on each cluster and lower-than-average yields. Warm summer months led to advanced veraison, which was followed by promising ripening conditions. Harvest began on 1 September with short pauses. Heat spells and continued warmth followed and harvest was completed on 8 October. 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec. 21-day skin contact. 18 months in new French barrels. Heady and obviously ripe. Purple, sweet fruit and, like 2009, more like a typical Napa Cab. Hot finish and much sweeter than most vintages. (JR) Jancis Robinson12th November 2025

Opus One

A First Growth in Napa

Known as NapaMedoc for the first three vintages and rebranded in 1982 as Opus One, this iconic Californian winery was founded as a joint venture between Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Château Mouton Rothschild and Robert Mondavi. The objective was to recreate a First Growth level, Bordeaux style wine in the Napa Valley and by every measure, they succeeded. The Grand Vin is a blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot and is aged for 18 months in 100% new French oak before being laid down for a further 18 months to mature in bottle. Since 1993, they have produced a second wine, Overture.

The winemaker is Micheal Silacci who apprenticed under legendary Napa winemakers Andre Tchelistcheff and Warren Winiarski and previously held positions at Beaulieu Vineyard and Stag's Leap Wine Cellars.
