Occidental Station Vineyard Cuvée Catherine Pinot Noir 2015 is a single-vineyard red wine from the Occidental Station Vineyard, located in the Sonoma Coast AVA of California. This vineyard, planted by Steve Kistler in 1999, features iron-rich, pebbly sandstone soils that contribute to a distinctive flavour profile. The winemaking approach is influenced by Burgundian traditions, incorporating practices such as hand-harvesting, 100% destemming, and native yeast fermentation. The wine ages in French oak barrels. It presents complex notes of dark fruits, flowers and minerals, with a structured palate that may benefit from bottle ageing. Steve Kistler is known for his commitment to expressing the unique characteristics of California`s coastal vineyards.
