The Nuits St Georges Les Pruliers Robert Chevillon 2012 is a red Burgundy predominantly made from carefully sourced Pinot Noir grapes from the esteemed Les Pruliers Premier Cru vineyard. This site, located in the Southern Nuits-Saint-Georges, features deeper clay and limestone soils that contribute to its characteristic structure. The 2012 vintage faced challenging weather, resulting in reduced yields but concentrated fruit flavours. Robert Chevillon, renowned for traditional winemaking methods, employs a non-interventionist approach that emphasises terroir. Expect a complex aromatic profile with dark fruits, earthiness and mineral notes accompanied by a firm, structured palate designed for ageing.

The 2012 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers, which comes from their 0.61 hectare of 31-year-old vines, has an enticing bouquet with accentuated forest floor and mushroom scents that are immediately tangible. The palate is sweet and sorbet-fresh on the entry. There is a bold, firm structure in situ. a Nuits Saint Georges built like an ocean freighter replete with a stocky masculine finish. This is long-term for sure. - Neal Martin
