The Nuits St Georges Clos des Corvées Prieuré-Roch 2015 is a Pinot Noir characterised by its origins in a monopole Premier Cru vineyard located within the Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation of Burgundy. Known for its distinctive soil composition, the vineyard produces wines noted for their depth and complexity. This vintage exhibits concentrated fruit flavours alongside earthiness. The winemaking at Domaine Prieuré-Roch, established by Henri-Frédéric Roch, adheres to biodynamic principles with minimal intervention, including whole-cluster fermentation and ageing in old oak barrels.

Prieure Roch

A Burgundian Titan

Founded in 1988 by Henri-Frédéric Roch, whose family are part-owners of the famous Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Prieure Roch produce wine from vineyard parcels in communes as diverse as Ladoix, Chambertin, Vosne Romanée and Savigny Les Beune. Farming of the vineyards is done to organic standards, veering towards full biodynamics in some instances and cellar techniques are strictly traditional - vinified in large wooden vats, manual punching down and without the use of sulphur.

Wines are kept in barrel for 12-24 months before bottling, although some experiments with extended ageing have taken place - most notably in 2002. These are elegant wines with the ripeness and poise that one would expect from a family that also produce arguable some of the world's great Pinot Noir.
