North British is Edinburgh`s long-established grain distillery, supplying blends as much as bottling under its own name. This single cask, distilled in 1992 and released at 33 years old through Alistair Walker`s Infrequent Flyers series, was finished in a fresh Ozark virgin oak barrel. The result is soft and dessert-like. baked pear, marzipan, vanilla fudge and toasted coconut on the nose, with Battenberg cake, honey and warming spice on the palate, closing on almond paste and gentle pepper. A gentle, characterful grain for patient sipping.
