With a long history going back to the 15th century, Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé is undoubtedly one of the finest producers in the Côte de Nuits. The estate is currently led by the sisters Comtesse Claire de Causans and Marie de Ladoucette, with Jean Lupatelli as chef de cave. De Vogüé holds a 7.2-hectare plot in the Musigny Grand Cru, by far the biggest landowner in the 10.8-hectare vineyard. The 1998 vintage produced red wines that were firm and tightly structured in their youth but are now showing their true potential.

Vinous
Bright red-ruby. Brilliant aromas of strawberry, raspberry, cherry and bitter chocolate. Wonderfully intense, sharply delineated flavors of red berries, spices and mint; a wine of great density and verve, not to mention powerful structure for long life. A rare combination of silky texture and lightness of touch. Fabulous back end features utterly suave tannins and resounding, vibrant fruit.
