The 2023 Morey-St-Denis from Dujac Fils & Père is a village-level Pinot Noir hailing from the Côte de Nuits. Sourced from various parcels within the appellation, notable lieux-dits include Clos Solon and En Seuvrey. This vintage exhibits a profile of ripe plum and cherry fruits, complemented by hints of licquorice and a light, chalky finish. The wine displays a balance of freshness and structure, making it approachable at an early age while also exhibiting potential for further development. Dujac Fils & Père operates as the négociant arm of famed Domaine Dujac.

Discreetly high-toned aromas of plums and orange zest introduce the 2023 Morey-Saint-Denis Village, a medium-bodied, open and delicately tannic wine that should drink well shortly after release. - William Kelley
Vinous
The 2023 Morey-Saint-Denis Village has more fruit intensity than the Gevrey, with red cherries and crushed strawberries. The palate is medium-bodied and nicely balanced with supple tannins and a slightly creamy, quite elegant finish. Enjoy this over the next three or four years.Neal Martin1st January 2025

A Focus on Terroir

Founded in the late 1960s by Jacques Seysses, who purchased and renovated Domaine Graillet in Morey-St-Denis. The estate is currently run by Jacques' sons Jeremy and Alec, who farm around 17 hectares of vines across the Côte including holdings in Echezeaux, Clos de la Roche, Charmes-Chambertin and Bonnes Mares.

A natural approach is taken in the vineyard and cellar with the estate moving from organic farming to fully biodynamic in the mid 2000s, receiving their certification in 2011. The team's focus is on elegance - temperatures are controlled to keep alcohol in check and also limit malolactic fermentation while juice from the crush is fed into the cellar by gravity only without the use of pumping. The wines of Domaine Dujac represent pure, balanced expressions of their respective terroirs.
