Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru Monts Luisants Domaine Dujac 2017 is a white Burgundy from the Côte de Nuits. Domaine Dujac is a highly revered producer that owns a small parcel of the Monts Luisants lieu-dit, a steep, limestone-rich site known for its plantings of Pinot Blanc, a rarity in the region. This 2017 bottling presents a precise bouquet of white flowers, green apple and citrus, with an intense minerality and a hint of spice. The palate is chiselled and taut, defined by a vibrant acidity and a pure, long finish, showcasing Dujac`s hands-off winemaking style.
Vinous
The 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis Monts Luisants Blanc was one of the few vineyards affected by hail this year, Dujac losing around 50% of the crop, though it mostly damaged the canopy rather than the bunches. This has an attractive honeysuckle and orange blossom bouquet, though perhaps it is not quite as penetrating as the 2016. The palate is fresh and vibrant with a fine bead of acidity, a significant step up from the Village Cru this year, and a light saline influence and hints of orange peel on the finish. Excellent. A Focus on Terroir

Founded in the late 1960s by Jacques Seysses, who purchased and renovated Domaine Graillet in Morey-St-Denis. The estate is currently run by Jacques' sons Jeremy and Alec, who farm around 17 hectares of vines across the Côte including holdings in Echezeaux, Clos de la Roche, Charmes-Chambertin and Bonnes Mares.

A natural approach is taken in the vineyard and cellar with the estate moving from organic farming to fully biodynamic in the mid 2000s, receiving their certification in 2011. The team's focus is on elegance - temperatures are controlled to keep alcohol in check and also limit malolactic fermentation while juice from the crush is fed into the cellar by gravity only without the use of pumping. The wines of Domaine Dujac represent pure, balanced expressions of their respective terroirs.
